How GLIMT Creates Spaces that Inspire Wellbeing, Creativity and Connection

Interior architects Camilla Aanensen and Ailin Stensen are the founders of GLIMT, a design studio that has been creating stunning spaces for four years. They have a loyal customer base and a reputation for delivering designs that are tailored to the client's needs and vision.

“Our passion is to work on projects that bring us joy and that we can be proud of. We love collaborating with our clients and creating spaces that suit their purposes and preferences,” Camilla says.

Camilla and Ailin put a lot of thought into how their designs can influence the mood and atmosphere of a space. They want to create different experiences for different rooms, depending on the intended use and function.

“We want to enhance the wellbeing of the people who enter our spaces. We want them to feel different emotions in different rooms – some rooms should energize them, some should calm them, some should spark their creativity,” Ailin says. “We achieve this by carefully choosing the materials, colours, lighting and textures for each space. This is something that might not be obvious to the end user, but we spend a lot of time working on these details. Our goal is to create a positive experience with our spaces.”

The team also takes the time to get to know their clients and understand their needs and identity. They want to create spaces that reflect who the client is and what they stand for, whether they are a business or an individual.

“We listen to our clients and try to understand their vision and values. We always keep in mind who will be using the space, whether it’s employees or customers. We also want to communicate the client’s identity and story through the space we create,” Camilla says.

GLIMT is always looking for new ways to innovate and challenge themselves. They are interested in finding modern solutions and rethinking traditional concepts of what a space should look like, especially in the context of changing work patterns.

“When we design a space, we don’t just think about what colours or furniture to use, but also about what purpose the space serves and how it can be improved. For example, we are currently working on an office landscape, and we have been thinking a lot about how people work today and how they will work in the future. There are new ways of working, and we want to make sure we challenge ourselves, question established ideas, think innovatively and find smart, new solutions,” Ailin says.

The interior architects at GLIMT are passionate about their work and take pride in what they do. They have won several awards for their designs and have created inspiring spaces that tell a story.

“We see our work as a creative expression, and creating a space is an artistic process,” Camilla says. “We love to create journeys within buildings, where people can experience different places.”

“We are driven by the joy of creating – creating something beautiful and functional out of nothing, out of an empty space. Each space should have its own identity. We want our clients to be amazed when they see the new space we have designed for them,” Ailin says.

GLIMT is also committed to sustainability and staying up to date with new technologies. They want to use materials that are environmentally friendly and add value to their projects. They also want to explore new technological opportunities that can benefit their clients.

“We want to be mindful of sustainability both as a company and in the services we offer our clients. We want to use materials that have a positive impact on the environment and on the project budget. We also want to keep up with the latest technological developments and see how they can help us create better spaces for our clients,” Ailin says.
